St. Patrick's Day!

We had so much fun today at school!  Lucky the Leprechaun visited our school last night and messed up things in our classroom!  He did leave us some fun treats like shamrock hats, chocolate coins, gold coins, leprechaun toys, and St. Patrick's Day erasers!  We decided he must have snuck out our window because his hat, gold, and shamrock plant were next to the window this morning! We even had a huge trap some students made in our classroom and it didn't catch him!

Leprechaun Trap

The leprechaun tied our chairs together!!!

The leprechaun read some books last night!

This is what he left by our window!

Lucky the Leprechaun left us some St. Patrick's Day reading, writing, and math work today!

We had "Dress Like a Leprechaun Day" today in kindergarten!  We looked great!!!

We tasted green foods at snack time today!  We appreciated the parents who prepared and sent the green foods for us today!  We got to try the following green foods: peppers, olives, limes, cucumbers, kiwi slices, broccoli pieces, M&M's, celery sticks, grapes, and pickles.  Some of us decided we liked some of the new foods we tried!

We had a great St. Patrick's Day!!!

Leprechaun Traps

We met with our 3rd grade buddies today and got to see the leprechaun traps they made.  We would all love it if one of the traps would catch a leprechaun!  The 3rd graders explained how their traps worked and how they planned on trying to catch a leprechaun in our school tonight.  We had fun looking at their traps...and we were great listeners!  We also read a book with the them called "How to Catch a Leprechaun."  This was a fun book to read!

Another Fun Day!

We had a little visitor at our school today!  As we were going outside to recess we noticed a baby bird on the sidewalk.  It was fun to look closely at this little bird...and we made sure not to touch him!

We got to eat our math work today!  We sorted and graphed the marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal.  After talking about our graphs and how many of each different marshmallow shape we had, we got to eat our cereal!  We love getting to eat our work!

We had some guest readers today!  Tyler's grandparents came to read to us!  They live in Illinois.  We enjoyed the stories they read to us and we were amazing listeners!!!

Ants on a Log

We discussed healthy foods and then made a healthy snack today with Mrs. B. from the CPS Nutrition Services Department.  She showed us how to make "Ants on a Log" using celery, sun butter, and dried cranberries.  We did a great job making these snacks and most of us enjoyed eating them!

Favorite Book Character Day

As part of our Reading Week celebration at school, we had a dress-up day today!  We got to come to school dressed as our favorite book characters!  We had some great costumes in our classroom!

The Kindergarten teachers all dressed like Splat the Cat and chose one of his books to read aloud to each kindergarten classroom today.  These books are fun books to read!
