Another Fun Friday!

We made bird feeders today!  We used cardboard tubes, peanut butter, and bird seed to make our bird feeders.  During science we have been studying living and nonliving things.  We can't wait to hang up our bird feeders and see what kinds of "living things" eat from them!

For Fun Friday, we decorated different types of wooden vehicles with markers.  Then, we made ramps and roads for them to travel on to get them to go fast or slow.  Some of us even figured out that if we tied strings to our vehicles we could pull them instead of having to push them.  We were thinking like little engineers!  This activity was an introduction to our upcoming force and motion unit we will be doing in science.

  1. Love the bird feeders! I think there will be some very happy birds around Columbia. What a fun way to introduce the next unit! We had one very happy engineer show us the cement truck she decorated!

  2. What a fun day! We hung our bird feeder up after school and by Saturday morning all the seeds and peanut butter were gone- I think the birds had some help from a hungry squirrel!
