A Day of Fun!

We sorted skeleton bones and then ate them today!  We were really good at sorting and finding out which groups had the most/least!  We were also really good at building skeletons with our bones!

We played a jack-o-lantern pattern block game at math time.  It was fun working with partners to see who could fill in all of their jack-o-lantern parts first!

We had a wonderful Fall Party!  We enjoyed playing some games, making a spider web craft, and eating some yummy foods!!!

Pumpkin Seeds/Candy Corn/Spiders

We planted pumpkin seeds today!  These were the seeds we took out of the pumpkin we carved yesterday.  We can't wait to see if our pumpkin seeds sprout soon!

We did candy corn math today!  We counted candy corn and made patterns with our candy corn, too. Check out these amazing patterns!

We made spider snacks today!  They were so yummy!!!

Pumpkin Carving/Flying Bats

We carved a pumpkin today!  We had to pull all of the seeds and "pumpkin guts" (as we called them) out of our pumpkin!  We weren't crazy about having to touch the "pumpkin guts" but Mrs. Bickel encouraged us to touch them anyway!  We think our jack-o-lantern looks great!

We flew bats today in our classroom!  After we threw them into the air, we looked to see whose bat went the farthest in our classroom.  You can probably tell from the picture below that it was a crazy, fun time!

Monster Toast/Monster Faces

We made "Monster Toast" today!  We mixed food coloring and milk together and then painted it on a piece of bread.  It was so fun painting on bread instead of paper!  We toasted our bread in the big oven in our school kitchen and then ate it.  We LOVED our toast!!!

We read a book called "Glad Monster Sad Monster" and then made our own monster faces.  We are some adorable monsters!

Fruit Snacks Math

We did some Halloween math today!  Our math time involved sorting Halloween fruit snacks!  After sorting them, we then counted and graphed how many of each fruit snack we had.  The best part was getting to eat our fruit snacks after math time!

Community Helpers - Day 10/Class Pumpkins/Fun Friday

Today we had our last visitor for our Community Helpers unit.  This visitor is a Stay at Home Mom.  She also does volunteer work in our community.  We learned that she is very busy...and rarely ever stays home!  When she is at home she has to cook, clean, shop, care for her family, and plan family activities.  Being a Stay a Home Parent is a big job!!!

Check out these pumpkins we decorated with our families!  They have made our classroom look nice this month!  It took a lot of hard work and creativity to make these wonderful pumpkins!

We sang the song "Five Little Pumpkins" and then made a "Five Little Pumpkins" snack for Fun Friday!

Community Helpers - Day 9/Slime

We had another visitor today!  She teaches music classes to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.  We really had fun with her!  She let us play a drum and rhythm sticks while we sang along with her.  Then, we did some scarf dancing and we REALLY liked that!  It was the perfect activity for us because we love singing and dancing in our classroom!

We made slime today!  This was a lot of fun!!!  We are taking the recipe home to ask our parents if we can make some with them!
